City hosting public input session September 27

Sep 14, 2022 | 6:00 AM

The City of Grande Prairie will be hosting a public input session on September 27.

This is part of the city’s 2023 Budget Engagement project to encourage community engagement and gain a perspective of the people who live and work here every day.

Mayor Jackie Clayton said in a news release, “Hosting these sessions is key to fostering engaging relationships, to build a strong, connected community. We look forward to connecting with our residents, sharing information about our budgeting processes, and hearing directly about what our community’s priorities are for the upcoming budget.”

Any city residents are invited to join the council and administration from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Centre 2000 to share their thoughts on the following questions:

  • What is your vision for the future of Grande Prairie?
  • What services do you value most in the City?
  • How do you suggest the City balance the need to operate with fiscal responsibility while providing quality services?

If you can’t make it on the 27, online feedback is still available until September 30 and will include a list of things, such as:

  • A survey that takes approximately 10-15 minutes to complete.
  • A Balancing Act tool to learn how the City’s operating budget is allocated and submit your own balanced City budget
  • An idea space to share your answers to brainstorming questions
  • A Q&A space to ask Administration questions about the budget and get live responses
