City homeless count set for September 26 & 27

Sep 21, 2022 | 5:29 PM

The City’s 6th bi-annual Point-in-Time Count on Homelessness is set to take place Monday and Tuesday.

Around 35 volunteers will canvass the entire city between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., talking to everyone that they meet about housing and homelessness.

In particular, they will be asking anyone that is experiencing homelessness to take a brief survey.

The count will track homelessness in many forms, including people staying in emergency shelters and short-term housing, as well as other options.

The results will be used along with other data collected from local agencies to help guide programming, policies and advocacy done by the City through its Homelessness strategy.
