GPCR Unit seized six ounces of meth after locating stolen vehicles

On October 11 around 1 p.m., officers with the Grande Prairie Crime Reduction Unit located two stolen vehicles at a gas station in Wembly and arrested two males who were attempting to flee.

Mounties conducted a search of the vehicle and seized 180 grams of methamphetamine.

John Wolitski, a resident of Beaverlodge, was charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Failing to comply with a release order X3
  • Resist arrest
  • Operation of a motor vehicle while prohibited

Dwayne Olson, a resident of Hythe, was charged with:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Drive while unauthorized
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Failing to comply with a release order X4
  • Failure to comply with a probation order

Olson also had 41 outstanding criminal charges at the time of his arrest.

Following Judicial Interim release hearings Olson and Wolitski were remanded into custody and were scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court, on October 17.
