Snowfall Warning

Up to 20 cm of snow expected in Grande Prairie region by Saturday

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Grande Prairie – Beaverlodge -Valleyview region.

Heavy snow is expected to start falling Friday afternoon, with total amounts expected to reach anywhere between 10 and 20 centimeters by Saturday morning.

Temperatures this coming weekend are forecast to be colder than average for this time of year; below freezing for daytime highs and nighttime lows.

The weather office is advising drivers to be prepared to adjust their driving habits with changing road conditions over the next 24 hours due to accumulating snow.

Hinton and Grande Cache’s forecast area is also expecting the same winter storm to pass through.
