City Council Highlights

Nov 29, 2022 | 10:36 AM

Grande Prairie City Council met on Monday and made a couple of changes besides the tax increase in their meeting. Council will be:

  • Enhancing cooperation with departments to increase their response to foxtails and other invasive plant life in city limits.
  • Non-for-profits rates for renting the whole swimming pool will swap with private rates to rent the whole swimming pool, prior rates for private events were cheaper then non-for-profits.
  • The 2021 tax recovery sale for properties will be held at the North Conference room at City Hall.
  • The Leisure Centre will remain paying fees for the space it uses until its demolition, which is supposed to take place before the end of 2022.
  • The 2024 to 2026 budget has been approved, in principle, but will be revised closer to when it comes into effect.
