International Volunteers Day celebrated in Grande Prairie with awards

Fifteen community members and businesses received awards Monday morning at the annual International Volunteer Day Celebration Breakfast.

The Grande Prairie Regional Association of Volunteer Organizations (VolunteerGP) event returned for the first time in three years to show support for volunteers in the community and around the world with a free breakfast and door prizes from local organizations and businesses.

During the event, VolunteerGP presented the 2022 Volunteer of the Year Awards and the Leaders of Tomorrow Awards presented by ATCO.

The Leaders of Tomorrow recipients receive a trophy, certificate, and a monetary award of $100. As well, a $100 donation will be made in their name to their local, registered charity of choice.
