Evacuation order issued for area near Tomslake after tanker truck crash

The Peace River Regional District has issued an evacuation order for an area close to Tomslake after a tanker truck crash.

The order includes a one-kilometre radius at the junction of Highway 2 and 198 Road.

It also extends south to Highway 2 and 197 Road.

Drive BC says Highway 2 is closed in both directions 11 kilometres south of Pouce Coupe. A detour is in place.

On its website, the district calls the crash a HAZMAT Motor Vehicle Incident. Other details are not available.
