Snow Removal

County snow clearing starts Wednesday

Dec 27, 2022 | 7:14 PM

Snow removal operations in the County of Grande Prairie will be in Hythe and Clairmont on Wednesday.

From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., county snow removal crews will be working on residential roads to clear snow in the Hamlet of Hythe and Clairmont’s Westlake Village and Whispering Ridge subdivisons.

Crews will move onto other residential areas, including Clairmont from 100 Ave to 116 Ave, Wedgewood, Taylor Estates, and Maple Ridge, with progress depending on weather conditions and garbage collection days.

Other subdivisions with ditches along the road like Carriage Lane and Goldenrod Estates are on a separate schedule.

A parking restriction will be put in place during the 12-hour period. Residents are asked to not park on the street as they may be ticketed and/or towed.

Residents are also being reminded to not pile snow in roadways as it is illegal, slows the snow-clearing process, and creates a hazard for traffic. Those caught doing so could receive a $100 fine.

The County wants to remind those in neighbourhoods with concrete curbs, gutters, and street parking that there is a temporary parking restriction for the snow removal season.
