Jan 22, 2023 | 4:08 PM

*UPDATE*

Grande Prairie RCMP says at 3:10 p.m. on January 22, an off duty police officer noticed the incident.

Emergency services attended the scene and cleared the highway, reopening both lanes after several hours.

The lone occupant of the semi was uninjured and no fluids or environmental concerns were reported from the event.

Rural officers with the Grande Prairie RCMP are currently on scene of a semi rollover on Highway 40 at secondary Highway 666.

A semi hauling rig mats on multiple flat deck trailers rolled off the road surface and the trailers and rig matts are blocking all lanes of traffic.

Travel in the area is restricted due to the rollover and motorists can expect delays for the next several hours.

RCMP have not reported any injuries at this time.

Mounties are recommending drivers to avoid travel in the area of the rollover if possible. If travel is necessary, they are asking motorists to slow down and adjust their driving to the road conditions.
