2023 County of Grande Prairie re-inspection cycle set to begin

Jan 25, 2023 | 2:44 PM

The County of Grande Prairie has starting sending letters to select residential properties as part of its annual re-inspection process.

These letters, also known as Requests for Information, are sent to homes that are due for re-inspection and allows residents the ability to self-report any changes to their property.

The Chief Assessor for the County of Grande Prairie, Chris Gardner said in a release, “It’s simple and easy for residents to complete the Request for Information.”

Anyone who receives a Request for Information can provide their property information to the county in a few different ways:

  • Visiting an online form using the link provided on the letter
  • Complete and mail the questionnaire back to the County in the provided envelope
  • Scan your questionnaire and email it to assmtrfi@countygp.ab.ca
  • Contact the assessment department at 780-513-3952 and complete the questionnaire over the phone

Gardner said in the same release, “We’ve seen this proactive approach streamline the process for both residents and staff, by ensuring we have as much information as possible before our Assessors head out the door.”

This year’s re-inspection area includes the east portion of the County and the Town of Wembley, with the start of the re-inspection cycle set for March 1.

County Assessors will still continue with some in-person inspections for non-residential properties, along with residential properties to ensure their information on file is up to date.
