Busy time for local ringette players

Feb 3, 2023 | 6:00 AM

The players with Peace Country Ringette are in the midst of a busy time in their schedule.

Peace Country Ringette will be hosting a mini tournament Sunday at the Crosslink County Sportsplex.

Games start at 8 a.m. and go until 1:30 p.m. There will be U10 and U12/14 divisions.

There are also raffle items and a donation drive for the food bank.

Three Peace Country Ringette teams were in Hinton January 20 to 22 for the Hinton Friends on Ice Ringette tournament.

The La Glace Ringers were in the U12 division and beat Fort Saskatchewan in their last game.

The Mighty Peace Neon Kiwis and the Peace Country Ice Breakers were both in the U14 group. The Breakers beat the Kiwis in a head-to-head match-up.

Mighty Peace Ringette and Peace Country Ringette also teamed up to enter a team in the U10 category.

“It was amazing to build this team over the past few years and have the opportunity to participate in a large-scale 26-team tournament full of city teams and actually be competitive!”

“Other zones across AB have been in the ringette game for much longer than us. It was a privilege to represent the North along with Peace Country Ringette and Mighty Peace Ringette teams,” says La Glace coach Erin Sandboe in a release.

Registration is open for Peace Country Ringette on its website.
