Puck drops at the Alberta Pond Hockey Championship
The Alberta Pond Hockey Championships got going Friday afternoon out at Lac Cardinal.
The tournament is designed to “tip its hat’ to hockey’s roots, having Canada’s game originate from frozen ponds, lakes, dugouts, and rivers across Canada, playing the way nature intended it.
Fans can take in action from four different divisions over the weekend, Junior’s, Women’s, Recreational, and Old Timers along with a Ringette Division.
The event will also feature a bunch of amenities for viewers, including; food services, beer gardens, free coffee and hot chocolate, and even a gala event taking place on Saturday at 7 p.m.
