New interim principal for St Catherine’s school named

Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools has issued a clarification on an earlier announcement regarding Darryl Thibault as the new interim Principal at St Catherine’s school.

The GP&DCS says Thibault has already begun his duties as Principle (started Monday, March 13) and will remain the Principle of St. Catherines until the end of the school year.

He will still provide students with a faith-based education while continuing the standard of excellence already in place, for the remainder of the school year.

Thibault will fill in for Shelly LaCroix as she has taken up the Principle role at the new St. Partick’s school.

GP&DCS said in a release, Thibault brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the role, having previously taught and held administrative positions at a number of schools.

Thibault said in the same release that he is looking forward to meeting the students and working with staff and the parent community at St Catherine’s.

St. Catherine’s has yet to confirm who will be the full-time principal come fall 2023.
