PWPSD announces changes to current ‘walk-limits’

After the Alberta government lowered the walking radius for schools on March 14, the Peace Wapiti Public School Division says it is offering more free public school bus transportation for more students, starting in September.

Previously, students living within a 2.4 kilometre radius of their school would not be able to access school bus transportation.

Now, students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 living inside a one kilometre radius, and students from Grades 7 to 12 in a two kilometre radius, will be in the walking zone.

However, kids can still use school bus transit if there is space on the bus for the student, and their parents or guardians pay a fee.
