A cowboy from the BC Peace won a nice chunk of change at a rodeo in Texas.

A story on the Pro Rodeo Canada website says Fort St. John’s Stephen Culling won $11,236 US at the Austin Rodeo in Steer Wrestling

Culling had times of 3.7, 4.2, and 3.6 seconds over three rounds and was second in the final.

Californian Stan Branco was the winner.

Culling is now 11th in World Standings in his event.

Other Canadians in or near the top 10 in their events include; Albertans Zeke Thurston and Ben Anderson, who are third and fifth respectively in saddle broncs. Another Albertan; Logan Hay, is 13th.

Arrowwood, Alberta’s Jeremy Buhler is first among team roping headers.

The first pro rodeo to be held in Canada in 2023 will take place in Medicine Hat April 14 to 16.

The Spring Break-Up Indoor Rodeo is set for April 21 and 22 in Dawson Creek.
