Street sweeping operations begin Sunday night in Grande Prairie

The recent spring-like weather conditions has given the city the opportunity to launch its annual street sweeping operations.

They will begin Sunday night at 10 pm and continue 24 hours a day until 10 pm next Friday.

Crews will be cleaning debris from roadways, medians, concrete barriers and boulevards, beginning with arterial and collector roads, transit routes, and secondary roads.

They expect to be finished those areas by the end of May, at which time they will then begin residential street cleaning, which should take about another month to wrap up.

All the time lines are dependent on the cooperation of Mother Nature.
