Apr 18, 2023 | 4:32 PM

Council approved a number of road-related tenders, including $1,377,817.20 to CTR Contracting Ltd. for culvert replacement. Council also approved a tender from AAA Striping and Seal Coating Service for $903,504.32 for the supply and installation of road pavement markings and crack-sealing application in 2023. In both cases, the accepted tenders were the lowest bids for either contract.

Council accepted a quote for the 2023 Crossroads Pond Dewatering Project. Titan Energy Services provided the quote at $138,900. Each spring, County Public Works pumps the storm pond to create room for runoff from melting snow and rain.

Also from their meeting on Monday, county council asked administration to meet with Bearisto & Associates Engineering, and their client TP County and Land Corporation, to develop a more detailed proposal for funding support for the Teepee Creek Area Structure Plan. That report is to be brought back to council at a later date.

Council also approved a number of sponsorship requests, including $5,000 for the Annual 3D Charity Hockey and Soccer tournament, and $5,000 to the Grande Prairie Pirates Fastball Association for sponsorship of the U13-D and U15-D provincial that will be held in early July at South Bear Creek.

They also approved a $2,000 sponsorship to the A Night with STARS gala event, which will take place on May 25, as well as $2,000 in sponsorship for the 9th annual North West Regional Skills Canada Competition, which goes this Friday at Northwestern Polytechnic’s Fairview Campus.

Council also decided to take no action on a request from a resident for them to build a half mile of new road east of Range Road 121. If approved and built, the road would have provided access to a quarter section of land.
