City unveils Clean Energy Improvement Program
The City will be launching its residential Clean Energy Improvement Program as of May 9, which will help property owners pay for energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades, thus reducing their energy consumption and lowering their carbon footprint.
The CEIP provides property owners with affordable and flexible, long-term funding through the municipality.
Financing is tied to the property and not the property owner, in the form of a tax added to the property’s tax bill.
That means if the property ends up being sold in the future, the financing would be automatically transferred to the new property owner.
