Acute care reopens at Valleyview Healthcare Centre

Alberta Health Services says Acute care services have resumed at the Valleyview Healthcare Centre following the evacuation of the community on May 16 due to the Sturgeon Lake Complex wildfires.

Patients, their families, and the health facilities they have been relocated to will be notified when arrangements are in place for them to return home safely.

Inpatient admissions have returned back to the facility, but services may be subject to adjustment to ensure the safety of those providing and receiving care.

As of Friday, there’s no timeline for when continuing care residents will be able to return back to the community.
