May 29, 2023 | 7:45 PM

The Eastlink Centre will play host to a number of free events next Tuesday and Thursday as part of Seniors Week activities.

There will be deep aquatics classes on both June 6 and 8 from 10:15 to 11 am, and introduction to essentrics dryland classes from 12:15 to 1 pm on both those same days.

Pre-registration is required for these classes, which are limited to 10 people per class.

You can register online at www.cityofgp.com/SeniorsWeek or by calling AccessGP at 3-1-1.

There will also be a drop-in, multi-sport event on June 6 from 9 am to noon, which will include pickleball, cornhole, and floor curling.

The city and County of Grande Prairie are co-hosting these events.

County Reeve Bob Marshall said in a news release “Seniors play such an important role in our communities. Through their hard work and contributions across the region, they established the community values and heritage that we hold dear to this day.”

Grande Prairie Mayor Jackie Clayton added, “Having these events to support and connect with seniors, is an integral part of building an inclusive, caring community.”
