PWPSD received a large donation to support students mental health
The Peace Wapiti Public School Division says it has received a large donation, which will go towards the school division’s mental health resources, thanks to the Iceberg Tournament.
The tournament was able to donate $7,000 dollars to go towards providing students with ed-psych evaluations much faster and to help cover the cost, which is usually around $2,500.
Founded in 2017, the Iceberg Tournament’s goal is to raise awareness and funds for children’s mental health.
Taking place yearly on the last weekend of March, it hosted 14 teams this year, raising the donated funds through ticket raffles, 50/50 draws, tournament vendors, and direct donations. The turnout was one of the largest in the event’s history.
