Official results released by Elections Alberta

A total of 1,777,321 ballots were cast in the provincial election in May, with the voter turnout at 59.5 per cent.

Of votes cast, a record-breaking 758,640 votes were made during advanced voting days and 21.9 per cent of people used the “Vote Anywhere” service.

The official count has been finalized in the ten days since Election Day. The official results are a reflection of the results of the official count.

Two electoral divisions; Calgary-Acadia and Calgary-Glenmore, came down to a difference of fewer than 100 ballots separating the winning candidate and runner-up. These two divisions were reviewed and verified by the Returning Officers.

For electoral divisions where the difference in votes was 101 or more ballots, Returning Officers have reviewed all Statement of Votes, rejected ballots, and objected to ballots.

In the Peace Region electoral divisions:

GRANDE PRAIRIE – UCP candidate Nolan Dyck won the riding with 10,001 votes. NDP candidate Kevin McLean was the runner-up with 4,890 votes. Grande Prairie had a voter turnout of 48.7 per cent.

GRANDE PRAIRIE-WAPITI – UCP candidate Ron Wiebe won the riding with 15,093 votes. NDP candidate Dustin Archibald was the runner-up with 4,063 votes. The Grande Prairie-Wapiti riding had a 54.5 per cent voter turnout.

CENTRAL PEACE-NOTLEY – UCP candidate Todd Loewen kept his seat with 9,280 votes in his favour for the riding. NDP candidate Megan Ciurysek was runner-up with 2,216 votes. The voter turnout for the riding was 58.5 per cent.

LESSER SLAKE LAKE – UCP candidate Scott Sinclair won the riding with 5,171 votes, with NDP candidate Danielle Larivee receiving 2,636 votes. 49 per cent of people cast their ballot in the riding.

PEACE RIVER – UCP candidate Dan Williams kept his seat for the riding with 8,236 ballots in his favour. NDP candidate Liana Paiva was runner-up with 2,587 votes. 45.5 per cent of the Peace River riding voted.
