RCMP watching for impaired drivers over long weekend

The long weekend is here and Alberta RCMP are expecting an increase in traffic.

In a release, Police are offering tips to drivers to keep passengers, pedestrians, and themselves safe over the holiday weekend.

Drivers are encouraged to drive at a safe speed, remove distractions like electronics, be mindful of smaller vehicles such as ATVs or motorcycles, and to never drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

In 2023 over 2,000 tickets were issued to drivers by Alberta RCMP over Heritage Day long weekend.
