Grande Prairie GIS arrest three suspects following kidnapping investigation

A report made out to Beaverlodge RCMP, regarding a man being assaulted, kidnapped, and deserted near the community of Huallen, has led Grande Prairie RCMP’s General Investigation Section to arrest three individuals.

On Monday, August 14, at 5:27 a.m. Beaverlodge RCMP received a report about a man who was assaulted, sprayed with mace, and left in the area of Township Road 710 and Range Road 93.

Grande Prairie RCMP’s GIS then began a subsequent investigation, leading them to find the man had been assaulted and kidnapped from Grande Prairie by three suspects, and later dropped off near the community of Huallen.

Eleven total charges were laid against three individuals:

  • Brandon Mayes, a 29-year-old Beaverlodge resident, has been charged with:

– Kidnapping

– Assault with a weapon

– Robbery

– Assault

– Uttering threats

  • Mary Estelle, a 20-year-old resident of Grande Prairie, has been charged with:

– Assault with a weapon

– Assault

– Uttering threats

– Administer a noxious substance

  • Tenika Leblanc, a 42-year-old resident of Beaverlodge, has been charged with:

– Kidnapping

– Robbery

Following a judicial interim hearing, Mayes was remanded into custody with a court date set for Wednesday, August 23. While Estelle was released with a court date set for September 7, along with Leblanc, who has a court date set for September 18.
