HFCRD re-elects Whalen as Board Chair

The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division has re-elected Kelly Whalen as their Board Chair.

This will be Whalen’s eighth year as the chair. He first joined the board after moving to Peace River in 2010.

Whalen said the division has a dynamic board and thanked them for re-electing him in a news release; “Showing their support this way putting me back in the leadership position.”

“I look forward to this year and advocating for publicly funded catholic education.”

Whalen said he will continue to advocate for publicly funded catholic education.

“We always want to make sure that our families have the choice in education in Peace River,” he said.

“The dynamic of having fully funded catholic education in Alberta is a privilege as well as a constitutional right. I think that we have to maintain our current numbers and increase enrolment. And always be looking to the future to provide the best public education for all of our students and families in the Peace County.”

Whalen is joined by John Kuran who was re-elected as Vice Chair for his sixth year as a board trustee.
