Man succumbs to injuries following unknown suspect assault

The Alberta Major Crimes Unit, the Grande Prairie GIS, and Edmonton Medical Examiner’s Office are still investigating a weapons assault that happened in the early morning hours of August 13 near downtown Grande Prairie.

RCMP received a report on August 13, at around 4:25 a.m. in the area of 100 Aveune and 96 Street in Grande Prairie of a male that had been assaulted with a weapon and sustained serious injuries.

The victim, 29-year-old Daylon Grimard of Grande Prairie, passed away due to his injuries on September 1, 2023.

An autopsy is scheduled for September 5.

Mounties are looking to speak with anyone that may have information regarding the assault that took place on August 13, 2023, in the area of 95 Street and 99 Aveune between the hours of 3:30 a.m and 4:30 a.m.
