Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital ED without a doctor for a third time this month

The Beaverlodge Municipal Hospital Emergency Department will be without physician coverage until Thursday, September 29, at 7 a.m.

During this time, nursing staff will remain on-site, providing urgent triage, assessments, and referrals for patients to neighboring healthcare facilities.

Anyone experiencing an emergency is still asked to call 911, as EMS will be re-routing calls to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital.

Depending on needs, AHS also wants residents to be made aware of services available through local pharmacies.

At this time, AHS says they are working hard to ensure residents have access to proper care, and thank local healthcare centers for providing support during this time.

This ED closure marks the third time a local emergency department has closed its doors to patients this month.
