Northern Lakes College opening new program and upgrading Slave Lake campus
Northern Lakes College’s main campus in Slave Lake will be getting new upgrades and program thanks to newly announced provincial funding.
The province is investing $1.9 million dollars to upgrade the building’s HVAC systems and improve student’s learning experience to encourage students to stay closer to home while developing their skills and knowledge to enter the workforce.
Additionally, the province is providing over $250,000 in a one-time grant to support the start of a pre-employment plumber program to prepare students to enter a plumbing apprenticeship with a 16-week program.
Northern Lakes College has campuses and community access points in 25 communities, including 15 First Nations and four Metis Settlements, spanning over 164,000 square kilometers.
