GP Neighborhood Outdoor Rink Program returns for the winter

The City is now accepting applications for its annual Neighborhood Outdoor Rink Program, until December 15.

Anyone interested in applying will need to find a committed group of five and pre-determine a location at a local park near their homes, before submitting the application.

The City will provide free training on rink setups and maintenance for successful applicants, but any building, watering, or maintenance that needs to be done throughout the year, is on the group of five.

The City said in the release, they will also be performing hazard assessments on a monthly basis.

There is no cost to apply for the program. However, interested applicants are encouraged to apply and get underway soon, as it’s recommended to have the rink fully constructed before the ground freezes and significant snowfalls.
