11th “Winterize Your Ride” takes over Prairie Coast Equipment

The 11th Annual “Winterize Your Ride” event is set to return on Saturday, November 4, courtesy of the Grande Prairie Alliance Church. (GPAC)

Local widows, single parents, and families in need are invited to attend and have their vehicles serviced for the winter, at no cost.

A 20-minute basic car care maintenance session will also be offered twice during the event, “Care Care 101” will run once at 10 a.m. and again at 2 p.m.

“Winterize Your Ride” will run out of Prairie Coast Equipment from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Volunteers are also still being sought after for a number of different positions:

• Event Manager – Responsible for the entire event.
• Lead Host/ess Leader – Responsible for the Guest Host/ess Team as they provide refreshments and make guests feel welcome.
• Guest Host/esses – Assist in welcoming and serving guests as they wait for vehicle servicing
• Lead Mechanics – Supervise a team of 3-5 mechanics.
• Mechanics – Service vehicles
• Service Assistants – Ensure service checklists are completed
• Set Up – Help with posting signage/other set up needs
• Parts Runners – Pick up parts as necessary
• Service Greeter – Welcome guests as they enter the yard. Start a service sheet for the vehicle and get the disclaimer signed.
• Baking Provider – Drop off a dozen muffins or donuts for the volunteers working the event. (You can even drop them off at GPAC earlier that week to be frozen.)
