To elevate road safety in Grande Prairie, the Safer Roads Alliance and the City of Grande Prairie are bringing back a joint initiative; “How Did the Chicken Cross the Road?”
This student safety road contest is meant to encourage students from Kindergarten to Grade 12, to creatively display road safety through various forms of media, such as drawing, painting, photos, or a short video.
Mayor Jackie Clayton said in a release, “With this contest, we hope to infuse the message of safety with a dose of creativity. It’s an exciting way for our youth to express themselves while emphasizing an important lesson.”
Cash prizes will be given to the top three creations in varying age groups: K to 3, 4 to 7, and 8 to 12. First place will take home $500, while second will get $300, and third place $200.
