Nov 3, 2023 | 8:18 AM

A member of the Grande Prairie Storm has been named the AJHL Player of the Month.

Coquitlam, BC product Tomas Marinkovic was awarded the honour after putting on a show in October.

Through 10 games Marinkovic had 21 points, with 10 goals and 11 assists, leading to an eight-game point streak.

The highlights of the month for Marinkovic included a five-point night in a 5-4 overtime victory against Drumheller. A hat trick and game-winning goal (GWG) versus the Canmore Eagles, followed up by another hat trick and GWG four days, later against the Whitecourt Wolverines.

During October, Marinkovic was AJHL Star of The Game four times and AJHL Player of the Week once, he currently leads the league in points per game average with 2.0, and is tied for sixth in scoring.

The Storm added Marinkovic to the roster in early October, after he spent the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League.

The Storm and Marinkovic will be back in action Friday (November 3) as they host the Lloydminster Bobcats at Bonnett’s Energy Centre, starting at 7 p.m.
