City Hall in Grande Prairie has launched its fall and winter tree pruning program.
It will run from November until April in several areas of the city, including:
· College Park
· Copperwood
· Countryside South
· Mission Heights (Kateri Drive and South)
· Royal Oaks
· Westgate
· Center West Business Park

The city says in a news release that the program is meant to keep trees healthy and make things safer and more beautiful.
“Regular pruning is essential for the safety of residents and the overall well-being of City trees in our community. By maintaining our urban forest, the City of Grande Prairie ensures that trees remain in good health, reducing the likelihood of pests and disease, while enhancing the natural beauty of our surroundings,” says Mayor Jackie Clayton in that same release.
The city says trees outside of these areas that also need attention will be looked after.
