Deadline to apply for City boards & committees approaches

The deadline to apply for public member positions on City boards, and committees for 2024, is quickly approaching.

Residents, 18 years or older, have until Friday, November 24, to apply for 26 varying roles on City boards and committees.

Mayor Jackie Clayton said in a release; ” Any resident thinking about applying should look into the variety of opportunities available for all levels of experience and apply today.”

A full list of all available positions:

  • Assessment Review Board – Five positions
  • Community Advisory Committee – Eight positions
  • Complaint Adjudication Committee – Two positions
  • Council Remuneration Review Committee – 4 positions
  • Economic Development Strategic Planning & Advisory Committee – One Position
  • Grande Prairie Airport Commission – Three positions
  • Grande Prairie Public Library Board – Two positions
  • Subdivision & Development Appeal Board – Five positions

In the same release, the City says successful applicants will provide support to the City in specific areas, through reviewing material, weighing alternatives, and making recommendations to Council.

Mayor Clayton added, “Sitting on a board or committee is a great way to create long-lasting impacts on our city, and build Grande Prairie for years to come.”
