AHS “Toys for Tickets” campaign returns

Nov 20, 2023 | 6:15 PM

Alberta Health Services is once again accepting toy donations as payment for recent parking tickets.

The “Toys for Tickets” campaign originally returned last year, after being shelved for a couple of years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a release, the Director of Parking at AHS, Nick Ternovatsky discussed the response from the province, after bringing the fundraiser back;

“Last year was a huge success as we collected more than 470 toys province-wide. Given its past success and positive reception, we are happy to launch it once again this holiday season.”

Now, Parking Services is once again collecting toys, with any tickets issued between November 6 and December 15, eligible to be paid for by a toy donation.

In order for toys to be used to pay off parking tickets, they must have a value of at least $25, and be newly bought and in their original packaging.

AHS shared a number of recommendations for toys in the release, adding toys will be donated to a wide variety of ages. (17 & under)
