London Drugs supporting low-income Seniors

8th annual Stuff a Stocking returns to Western Canada

London Drugs has brought back its 8th annual Stuff a Stocking campaign in Western Canada, with hopes of supporting low-income seniors this holiday season.

This comes as 84 per cent of low-income seniors report running out of money to buy food regularly, due to recent economic pressures.

From now until December 8, residents can visit 80 London Drugs locations across western Canada. Including Grande Prairie, and select a tag from the Stocking Stuffers for Seniors Christmas tree.

Customers are then encouraged to purchase that item (from any store) and return it to the same London Drugs location.

New to the initiative this year is that anyone who returns a gift between December 1 and 8, will receive an additional 500 LDExtra points. With gifts returned before December 1, getting residents 1,000 LDExtra points.

COO for London Drugs, Clint Mahlman discussed the importance of this campaign in a release, as Canada’s senior population is expected to grow by 68 percent over the next twenty years.

“Our Stocking Stuffers for Seniors initiative aims to provide essential support and bring joy to the lives of seniors who may be experiencing financial hardship. It is about letting them know that they are not forgotten over the holidays and that their community truly cares about their well-being.”
