NWJHL

There are two games in the Northwest Junior Hockey League Friday.

Beaverlodge in Sexsmith and the Wheat Kings in Peace River.

Both start at 8 p.m.

After Friday, the NWJHL is off until December 29.

NPHL

In the North Peace Hockey League Friday, Valleyview in Manning and Fort St. John in Falher.

Saturday, Manning in Spirit River and Dawson Creek in Valleyview.

All games start at 8:30.

After Saturday, the NPHL is off until January 4.

Storm

The next games for the Storm will be December 29 and 30 at home against Sherwood Park.

The Storm have a record of 15-16-3-1 so far this season.

Grande Prairie and Canmore are tied with 34 points each.

The Eagles are home to Calgary tonight in the last AJHL game before the league takes a week off over Christmas.

Nitehawk

The ski hill at Nitehawk will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

The Tube Zone will be open from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday night, noon-2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. -4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Nitehawk will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, then re-open on Boxing Day.

The hours for December 26-28 will be 11 a.m.-5 p.m., then 5:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Friday, December 29, and 11a.m -5 p.m. on December 30.

The Fresh Air Family New Year’s Eve Event goes from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on December 31. Fireworks are planned for 10:15 p.m.

Nitehawk is closed New Year’s Day, then open January 2-4 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on January 5 and 11 a.m -5 p.m. on January 6 and 7.

The Tube Zone is open from noon-2 and 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Boxing Day, with the same hours set for December 28, 30 and January 3,4, 6 and 7.

There is Glow Tubing on December 29 and January 5 from 5-7 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. and on January 6 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Whispering Pines

Whispering Pines is open Friday and Saturday.

It has had 7 cm of snow this week.

All lifts are operating, and all runs will be open.

Whispering Pines will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, then open daily from Boxing Day through January 7.

Lifts run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The rental shop opens at 9 a.m.

Spring Lake

Spring Lake Ski Hill near Hythe says in a social media post that it will be open this winter.

Opening day has not been set.
