Grande Prairie RCMP arrest two residents during proactive patrols

Grande Prairie RCMP has charged two residents for multiple offenses, after conducting proactive patrols in the Hillside Area on December 4.

Just after 4 a.m. Mounties said in a release, they observed a vehicle driving erratically and attempted to pull the vehicle over but it fled at a high speed.

Shortly after fleeing, the suspect vehicle lost control and came to a stop, the two suspects then fled on foot.

Mounties then pursued and arrested the suspects and searched the vehicle; Finding a loaded shotgun, multiple live rounds for the weapon, and five grams of what RCMP believed to be meth.

24-year-old Jesse Bujol, a resident of Grande Prairie received 18 charges, including:

  • Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
  • Flight from a peace officer
  • Two counts of Resist arrest
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Two counts of Careless use of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Three Counts of Possession of firearm contrary to order
  • Tampering with a serial number of a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Two counts of Failure to comply with a probation order
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Fail to remain at the scene of a collision

25-year-old Cheyenne Badger, also a resident of Grande Prairie received ten charges:

  • Two counts of careless use of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Tampering with a serial number of a firearm
  • Two counts of resisting arrest
  • Possession of a controlled substance

Following a release hearing, Bujold was remanded into custody while Badger was released, with both scheduled to be in court on January 10.
