RCMP WAD CRU shares update on Sexsmith police presence
An update on the police presence in Sexsmith last week has been provided by the Western Alberta District (WAD) Crime Reduction Unit. (CRU)
In a release, WAD CRU said with support from the RCMP Emergency Response Team, they were conducting a police operation at a residence in Sexsmith on January 4, related to a male wanted for multiple warrants.
Thirty-nine-year-old Malcolm Tetstawits, a resident of Duncan’s First Nation, was arrested on over 20 Criminal Code warrants, including:
- Multiple counts of failing to comply with release orders
- Flight from police
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Resisting arrest
- Theft of a motor vehicle
