Multiple school bus services cancelled following extreme cold warning

Parents and students in the Peace Region are being reminded to check their school divisions to see if buses have been cancelled.

This comes after an extreme cold warning was issued for the area.

Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools, Grande Prairie Public School Division, Northern Gateway Public Schools, and the Peace Wapiti Public School Division have cancelled all bus services for Friday, January 12, due to the cold weather.

Meanwhile, the Peace River School Division, the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division, Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation and Valhalla Community Public Charter School cancelled Thursday’s bus services, but have not yet announced any cancellations for Friday.

While the routes have been cancelled, the schools themselves remain open and students will need to look for alternative ways to make it to class.
