Fairview ED closure reduced by 12 hours

AHS has announced that the Fairview Health Complex ED will be fully operational again starting at 7 p.m. tonight (Friday, January 12) as physician coverage has been found.

Previously AHS had said the Fairview ED would be without an on-site physician from 7 a.m. on Thursday, January 11 to 7 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, but that has now been reduced.

However, until 7 p.m., nursing staff will remain onsite, to perform urgent triage, assessments, and referrals, while EMS will be re-routing calls to neighbouring facilities.

In the release, AHS thanked residents for their patience and understanding during this time.
