Jan 15, 2024 | 8:25 AM
A cold record in Grande Prairie was broke over this past frigid weekend.
On Friday, the coldest temperature in the city was -42.5 degrees Celsius. The old record on Jaunary 12 was set back in 1998 when it was -41.0 C.
Thirty seven other places in the province also had their cold records broke the same day.
Even though Sunday was the coldest Grande Prairie residents experienced all weekend at a numbing -42.7 C, it did not beat the record of -50.0 C set back in 1950!
