2024 Alberta Pond Hockey Championship cancelled

The MD of Peace has informed the EverythingGP Newsroom that the Alberta Pond Hockey Championship has been cancelled.
It was set to run from March 8-10.
The M.D. says the cancellation is because of the warmer than usual temperatures, leading to thin ice that can’t support the weight of the equipment used to prepare the rinks.
The M.D. did say the that the gala set for Saturday, March 9, is still being held, and council will provide a more in-depth update regarding the event cancellation and its $5,000 sponsorship funding it provided to the Alberta Pond Hockey Championship.
