UPDATE: Fairview Health Complex ED physician coverage found

UPDATE:

AHS has found coverage for the Fairview Health Complex Emergency Department, starting at 5 p.m. today. (Thursday, February 22)

Alberta Health Services said in the release, “We are grateful for the support of our healthcare teams and would like to thank the community for their patience and understanding.”

The Fairview Health Complex Emergency Department will be without a doctor starting at 7 a.m. Thursday, February 22, until 7 a.m. on Friday, February 23.

During the closure, nursing staff will remain on-site to perform urgent triage, assessments and referrals to neighbouring facilities.

Any residents experiencing a medical emergency during the closure are still asked to contact 911, as EMS will be available and rerouting calls to neighbouring facilities.
