TD Bank Group provides funds to GPPSD to bring in YMCA programming
The TD Bank Group is contributing $50,000 through it’s TD Ready Commitment Initiative, to the Grande Prairie Public School Division.
Thanks to this funding, the Grande Prairie Public School Division has partnered with the YMCA of Northern Alberta to bring its “well-established youth support programming” for Grade 5 and 6 students, as the leap from “elementary to junior high can be tough, and many kids need extra support.”
This programming will be first rolled out at three schools; Hillside Community School, Maude Clifford Public School, and Crystal Park School.
In the release, TD Senior Vice President and Alberta Region Head, Robert Ghazal said “At TD, we believe reading and math skills can help set the foundation for today’s youth and that’s why, through the Financial Security driver of the TD Ready Commitment, we’re investing in initiatives that help increase access to early learning.”
