Grande Prairie high school student to participate in 2024 Vimy Pilgrimage Award

A high school student from Grande Prairie will be joining an annual pilgrimage to the Canadian War Memorial in France.

Brett English will participate in the 2024 Vimy Pilgrimage Award, an experimental program for youth aged 14 to 17 across Canada, to travel to historic sites and visit the Canadian National Vimy Memorial.

English and his peers will travel across France and Belgium over an eight-day program to visit important sites, museums, cemeteries, and historic battlefields from the First World War, while immersing themselves in history to develop a better understanding of the impact still felt today.

The trip will take place April 3 to April 10.
