UPDATE: Physician coverage found for Friday/ Saturday at Fairview Health Complex emergency department

UPDATE: Alberta Health Services says it has found physician coverage for the emergency department at the Fairview Health Complex and there is now a doctor on site.

A previous announcement said there would be no on site physician from now until 7 a.m. Saturday.

The Fairview Health Complex Emergency Department could be without an on-site physician for several days this week.

Due to an inability to secure physician coverage, there will be no on-site physician from 7:00 a.m. Wednesday April 10 till 7:00 a.m. Thursday April 11, and then again from 7:00 a.m. Friday April 12, to 7:00 a.m. Saturday April 13.

If patients call 911 with a medical emergency, EMS remains available to transport them to surrounding healthcare facilities.
