Fire Ban
Fire Ban still in effect for the City of Grande Prairie

The City of Grande Prairie is reminding residents that despite the recent precipitation, a fire ban remains in effect.
According to Acting City Fire Chief Mike Anderson, “The recent rains, while welcome, do not offset the prolonged period of dry conditions that have heightened the fire risk.”
This fire ban is city-wide and includes all forms of burning, such as fire pits on public or private land.
Negligence or what the City calls, “willful non-compliance” could result in administrative penalties of up to $10,000 a day, under the authority of the Alberta Safety Codes Act.
