Auto racing, baseball, rugby this weekend

Auto Racing

The season starts at the Hythe Motor Speedway this weekend.

First up is Mower Mayhem Friday Night at 7 p.m. on the small dirt track.

Saturday’s schedule includes mini sprint and mower mayhem at 10 a.m. with the main racing session starting at 5 p.m.

Mini sprint will start at 9 a.m. on Sunday with the main races getting going at 2 p.m.

Wheatbelt Baseball League

There is one game in the Wheatbelt Baseball League Saturday.

The County Brewers host Peace River starting at noon.

The Stampeders are in first place in the standings with a perfect 5-0 record so far this season. The Brewers are in fourth place at 2-1.

Minor Baseball

The U15 Reds Team Sinclair plays the Sherwood Park Athletics at noon on Saturday at Evergreen Park.

Also Saturday, the Drayton Valley Giants play the St. Albert Cardinals at 3 p.m. and Sherwood Park at 6 p.m.

Team Sinclair plays the Cardinals at 9 a.m. and the Giants at noon Sunday.

Sherwood Park and St. Albert play each other also at noon.

Those games also at Evergreen Park.

The U15 Reds Team Weston will play the Edmonton Angels at 3 p.m. Saturday in Edmonton.

Team Weston then plays the Parkland Twins Sunday at 9 a.m. and the Southwest Edmonton White Sox at noon, also in Edmonton.

The U11 Reds play the Parkland Twins Saturday at noon, St. Albert Cardinals play the Southwest Edmonton White Sox at 3, and the Twins play St. Albert at 6 p.m., all at Evergreen Park.

The Reds play the White Sox Sunday at 9 a.m. and the Cardinals at 3 p.m. The Twins and White Sox play each other at noon, also at Evergreen Park.

Rugby

Grande Prairie rugby teams have home games this weekend.

The Grande Prairie Sirens host Leduc at 1 p.m.

The Centaurs then play Leduc at 3 p.m.

Both games at Macklin Field.
