Up to 70mm of rain expected in Grande Prairie

Heavy rainfall is expected to continue all day Thursday and taper off Friday morning.

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning.

Amounts between 50-70 mm are to fall in the greater Grande Prairie area.

Downpours have the possibility of causing flash floods and pooling water on roads, localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

The weather office says to watch for possible watchouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts.
